Practical Information and Accommodation

We are pleased to announce that selected participants will be fully hosted and will be offered:

• Accommodation for two nights in Venice (6th and 7th March 2024)
• Social Dinner on 7th March 2024
• Lunch and Coffee Breaks on the days of the workshop
• Travel reimbursement. As an organisation actively researching climate change and committed to sustainability we want to raise awareness to the environmental impact associated with air travel and encourage participants to opt for more sustainable modes of transportation whenever possible. For participants travelling by train or bus, we will reimburse the eligible travel expenses up to a cap of 200 euros. In cases where train or bus travel is not available or feasible, we may offer partial reimbursement on a case-by-case basis.

Venue

The workshop will be held in Aula Mario Baratto (https://www.unive.it/pag/30119/), at Ca’Foscari University, Dorsoduro 3246 - 30123 (VE). Coffee breaks and lunches will be served onsite. The building can be reached from the hotel and from the central station by a 15 minute walk. If you're arriving at Venice Marco Polo Airport and need to reach Campus S. Giobbe at Ca' Foscari University, you have a few options:

• Public Transportation: You can take the ACTV Bus Line 5 from the airport to the "Piazzale Roma" terminal (or any other bus or service to “Piazzale Roma”, they are frequent and tickets can be bought inside the airport). From “Piazzale Roma”, go to the railway station and walk (6 to 8 minutes) to the end of platform 1 North, following the directions to Campus S Giobbe;
• Other options include a land taxi to “Piazzale Roma” (about 40 euro) or a much more expensive and picturesque Water Taxi (about 120 euro or more)
  
  

If you're arriving by train at the Venice Santa Lucia Train Station, walk to the end of platform 1 North, and then follow the directions to Campus S Giobbe.

For the presentations on March 7th and 8th at Palazzo Ca' Foscari in Dorsoduro 3246, the most convenient option from the railway station is to walk (12 to 15 minutes) or take a vaporetto to “Ca' Rezzonico”. Palazzo Ca' Foscari is within walking distance from the "Ca' Rezzonico" vaporetto stop.
