2nd DISEI-Workshop on Heterogeneity, Evolution and Networks in Economics

2nd DISEI-Workshop on Heterogeneity, Evolution and Networks in Economics

Background

Computational methods offer a vast kit of tools allowing to overcome the limitations of analytical tractability in modelling. Many of these methods are increasingly used in economics, and the theoretical implications of topics such as non linearity, network analysis, agent heterogeneity, bounded rationality, learning and interaction are increasingly recognized in the economic literature. The Disei Workshop on Heterogeneity, Evolution and Networks in Economics aims to provide an opportunity to spread and disseminate the most recent research on these issues.

Aims and scope
The workshop aims to bring together researchers from different countries working on the role of heterogeneity of economic agents, their interaction in a network structure and the evolutionary dynamics of the economic system. The selection of contributions will favor junior researchers. The main focus will be on computational models and their applications in the economic domain, with a particular emphasis on policy.

In particular, the call for papers includes the following topics:

  • Computational Economics
  • Network Theory and Applications
  • Nonlinear Economic Dynamics
  • Evolutionary Game Theory
  • Dynamic Games
  • Heterogeneous Agents Models in Economics and Finance
  • Market Microstructure & Fundamentals
  • Trade & Global Value Chains
  • Industrial & Environmental Policy
  • Macroeconomic Stabilization

Invited Speakers
  • Prof. Giulia Iori, City University of London
  • Prof. Thomas Lux, University of Kiel

Special Issue
Contributed papers may be submitted for a special issue on the Journal of Economic Interaction and Coordination.

Submission
Authors should submit full papers or extended abstracts (max 2 pages) to disei.complex.workshop@gmail.com. The first page of the submission must contain authors’ affiliations and at least three keywords. The submitter will be assumed to be the presenter, unless differently specified. Only one paper per presenter is allowed.
