EPOC offers a structured, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral training programme. An overarching curriculum prepares every doctoral fellow optimally for academic as well as non-academic positions and for starting an own business.
Research Training
- Three network-wide intensive EPOC research training schools in key areas:
- Data science, empirical analysis
- Networks and systemic risk
- Agent-based models for policy analysis
- Cluster group meetings, training focused on the three different research work packages
- Participation in research seminars with international speakers
International Exposure and Academic Networking
- Regular presentation of own research in doctoral seminars and at annual EPOC jamborees
- Support for participation and presentation in relevant international conferences/workshops
- Long research stays at the two degree granting universities
- Joint supervision, double degrees
Soft Skills and Carreer Development
- Two months internships at non-academic partners
- Policy maker meetings, insights about current policy questions related to EPOC research
- Soft skill training in e.g. data management, open science, job market preparation
- Organziation of the international EPOC doctoral workshop related to EPOC research agenda
- Support to establish a career development plan
- Special support for female doctoral fellows career perspectives
